Kidzone expands to provide Infant/Toddler Care. In addition to existing childcare for preschool and school age children, Kidzone has now become licensed to provide childcare for infants and toddlers. With a redesigned facility and separate area for babies, Kidzone gives parents a safe and nurturing place to send their small children during the day. Kidzone is offering childcare for infants ages 2 weeks to 18 months and to toddlers 18 months to 30 months. Care will be available on a full-time basis only, at a cost of $130.00 per week. Kidzone's new expansion and redesign has

created a separate room for infants and toddlers that is filled with cribs, high chairs, swings, toys, and changing tables. The staff here will be able to care for up to 24 infants and toddlers, with a ratio of one caretaker to every four children. Parents are expected to supply diapers, prepared bottles, and food. In turn, Kidzone will provide a safe and loving environment for the babies to grow and nurture. Kidzone is licensed for infant and toddler care, and has a complete health service policy and procedure plan, created and certified by a licensed physician.

The program philosophy at Kidzone emphasizes a child-initiated learning within a culturally diverse community. Children must be actively involved to learn. Children choose the activities that interest them, manipulate the materials available in the center, and become the architects of their own learning. Learning is social. Learning is enhanced and expanded through in

interaction with other children and teachers. Our learning center approach allows the children to interact with one another, aiding in the creation of new ideas and new questions. The teachers circulate among the center's to augment their learning, help solve questions, and provide new questions for further exploration. Children learn in a variety of ways.
